Following the success of a Melbourne hometown launch, Hello Satellites will play solo shows in Sydney on Saturday 31 May and Canberra on Friday 6 June in celebration of the new album, 84000.
The Canberra show will take place at Front Gallery with special guest Julia and the Deep Sea.
84000, the sophomore album from Hello Satellites began as a solo project in Eva Popov’s suburban shed before taking form as a studio collaboration with producer Nick Huggins and Joe Hammond.
The songs began from sounds that were collaged, recorded and layered, including trombone, clarinet, strings, trumpets, saxophones, pianos, keyboards, bodies stomping and jumping. The album was recorded across six different studios with the diverse recording and mixing talents of Nick Huggins, J. Walker (Machine Translations) and Joe Hammond with generous assistance from Arts Victoria.
Featuring singles ‘Television Screens’ and ‘Hollering Saints’, 84000 is out now on CD/Digital through Two Bright Lakes/Remote Control, distributed nationally by Inertia.
