6:00pm til 9:30pm
Co-presented with ACCA
Supported by Audi.
Get your cultural fix at this evening of art, new music and drinks. Lounge about in ACCA’s main gallery space and in your last chance before the exhibition closes, watch UK superstar visual artist Tacita Dean’s 11-minute silent movie, FILM (2011).
Commissioned as part of the Unilever Series and originally shown in the Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall, FILM is a large-scale installation which points to the history and legacy of movie technology. Dubbed by art critic Rosalind Krauss as a ‘surreal visual poem’, FILM pays tribute to techniques long forgotten.
The night will also see you revelling in ‘slo-mo’ disco beats courtesy of Melbourne’s Speed Painters, and swigging back the happy-hour drinks with $5 beer and wine from 6pm to 7pm.
PRESENTED AS PART OF TACITA DEAN’S FILM EXHIBITION
