Ahead of their forthcoming album, the Harpoons have brought together the brilliant ‘Keep You Around’ alongside the up-tempo strut of ‘Walk Away’. Featuring another inspired vocal performance from Bec Rigby, it finds the Harpoons in razor sharp form with Martin King’s (Oscar + Martin) percussion tight and snappy, allowing space for the base and guitar lines to play equal rhythmic parts, while Rigby continues the soul tradition of creating dancefloor bombs out of crooning heartbreak. Not only that, the EP also includes the amazing Falling For You and a twisted take on Keep You Around from Speed Painters’ Oscar O’Bryan.
Praise for Harpoons
“Loving the 60’s philly soul vibe happening here. Bec Rigby’s vox and that bassline makes for a pretty sweet groove. If this is anything to go by, word of the new record is hella good news”
